The human body is forever changed postpartum – it can be scary yet empowering! The aches and pains of pregnancy and birth are in the past, but new symptoms and complaints can present themselves:
After birth, so much focus is on baby, and mom is often left forgotten (outside of her 7 minute 6 week follow up appointment) with many unanswered questions and is often left to adapt to many new normalcies. With so much focus on baby, endless scrolling of curated Instagram feeds and the new mom on Tik Tok telling you to 'bounce back' it can be an extremely difficult time for many.
This 4 week program run by Dr. Brooke Earley asks moms to dedicate 50 minutes twice a week towards themselves and their health and fitness journey. This program helps Diastasis Recti through core stability drills, reverse postural deficits after approximately 40 weeks of carrying and eases chronic pain from repetitive tasks like sitting with, feeding and carrying baby.
The goal of this class is not to 'get our pre baby body back' or 'burn the mom pouch' - these phrases are not even in our vocabulary. This class focuses on redeveloping breathing patterns, restructuring posture and back strength, strengthening the glutes, hips and pelvic floor, giving moms a place to meet each other and feel supported along the way and helping you to create a routine to set you up as a healthy leader in your family.
This class is for any and every mama!
This class is held at Dance Factor Strathroy on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10am - 11am (2x/week for 4 weeks).
The best part? This class can be run underneath your chiropractic insurance coverage.
Our next session starts Tuesday, March 12 2024. If you are interested in joining this session, please reach out!
The postpartum period comes with its own set of challenges, such as upper back and neck pain from feeding and holding your new little one, and low back pain from being more sedentary. Chiropractic care can be beneficial for all of this and MORE!
Our chiropractors have continued education in post partum recovery and rehabilitation can help patients recover from disastasis rectus abdominus. At 35 weeks, 100% of pregnant people will have diastasis. It is a completely normal adaptation that occurs as a means to make more room for baby. Our providers ensure you are well educated and reduce the fear surrounding movement, exercise and disastasis.
